Where can I get the data of OS Version and Installed devices ?

Hi, when I upload my app to Google's PlayStore, it displays me, how many devices are using a particular os version. For example, 40% of devices use Oreo. 30% of devices use Lollypop, like that. It helps me a lot to decide, which version should I target. In UWP, I am missing many new features (like Lottie) that are available only for higher OS Versions. So, is there any such data available for windows os version distribution?

Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

So, is there any such data available for windows os version distribution?

There is no such data report in the Partner Center that could show the OS version.

Yes, I mean you might need to code in your app to collect this data.

But you could use App Center in your app. This tool could monitor the status and usage of the app using the Analytics and Diagnostics services. The Devices and OS report could show the number of different device types and the number of different OS versions.

I'll also edit my answer.

Thank you.

You could check the OS version in your app by yourself.

Sorry, I am not getting you. Do you suggest me to find the OS distribution data though some coding in my apps myself, if so, I have to upload each user's os version to my server and count them. it is costly for me. Moreover, it will not be accurate.

If I explain why do I need this data, you could understand my requirement. I tried to use Lottie animation library in my project. But, it requires OS version 17763 or higher. So I removed that Lottie, not willing to lose the clients whose OS version would be below 17763, thinking that there would be at least 40% of total windows users using OS versions below 17763. But this is my assumption. If I get the real data, it would be very useful for me to decide whether to drop the Lottie or the Clients (if they are less than 5%).

But after confirmed with other engineers, I've found a tool that might help you to get such kind of data.

Yes, that seems a moderate alternative. Accepted.
