I have the same problem.
Running Windows 10 Pro 21H2 and trying to copy contents from several DVDs.
When I insert the first DVD I see the contents of the first DVD.
When I insert the second DVD it still shows the contents of the first DVD. Even if I eject it and refresh it etc.
I'm seeing the same "reported" contents on both the host machine and the remote machine. On the host machine I'm looking at the contents of the drive, not the shared folder in case the shared folder is caching.
So far the only way I've been able to get it to show the contents of the new DVD is to restart the PC each time which is majorly annoying.
Other tidbits:
The dvd drive in question is shared on the network as it's the only dvd drive I have at home.
The dvd drive is a ATAPI iHAS122 C burner.
Nothing has ever been written from this DVD drive in this PC or Windows installation. So cache shouldn't be an issue.
Right click refresh in Explorer does not help.
I tried rescanning the disk from disk management and then exploring it again. Did not help.
I uninstalled the driver for the device, rebooted and tried again with the new driver that it auto installed. Still no success. I wasn't offered the ability to delete the driver.
I tried updating the driver. "The best drivers for your device are already installed".
The drive itself is fully functional and I'm able to copy the contents of one dvd per one reboot.
I tried ejecting the drive and reinserting it. No joy.
Did you mean when you load a disc into the DVD drive, the disc does not run or play?
Firstly, confirm the drive is listed in Device Manager, and then reinstall the device to resolve any error states.
Remove any disc from the drive.
In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
Double-click DVD/CD-ROM drives to expand the category.
Right-click the drive name, and then select Uninstall device or Uninstall.
Click Uninstall or similar to confirm the uninstall.
Close all open programs, and then restart the computer. Windows automatically configures the device.
Test a disc in the drive.
If the issue persists, go to the next step.
Enable the AutoPlay setting to automatically start discs when loaded.
In Windows, search for and open Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound, and then click AutoPlay.
Select the Use AutoPlay for all media and devices setting.
Next to each DVD, Blu-ray, and CD type, click the drop-down menu, select Ask me every time, and then click Save.
Test a disc in the drive.
Hope above information can help you.

I'm not sure, based on your description, if this is the issue, but I have seen something similar when it is "files" that are waiting to be written or burned to a DVD. You're possibly viewing the cache that is ready to be written to the DVD. You may want to take a look to see if there is anything indicating that these files are "ready to be burned" or you need to finish burning the DVD. If that is the case, I believe you can purge or remove/delete the cached files.
If that's not the issue, make sure that you refresh explorer when you insert the new DVD. You can also go into "Disk Management" (right click on the Windows Start Menu and choose "Disk Management") and choose your DVD drive and see if it shows you something different? You can go to "Action" and "Refresh" to see if that helps and possibly even "Rescan Disks" to see if that will have some effect on showing you the correct information on the DVD.
If it is neither of these, make sure the drive is functioning correctly in Device Manager. Mine is very noisy when a disk is placed in it, so I'm assuming that it is spinning when you place the new drive in. :)
Hope this helps....
Edward
