How to configure alerts in backup success or failure for backup vault in azure

Hi Team,

Requirement:

We have some snapshots getting generated daily and one backup vault is created in one resource group, and we need to configure email alerts for this snapshot success or failure status.

Kindly provide, are there any links which helps us to achieve my requirement?

Thanks
Manohar

@ManoharKummariGroup-9069 Welcome to Microsoft Q&A and thanks for reaching out with your query

In general, you can review this documentation on Azure Monitor Alerts for Azure Backup preview feature and see if caters your requirement.

I will try to test the scenario you are calling and circle back if I have additional information to what is already being shared above.

Please review the documentation, will keep this thread updated as I have more information.

Thanks Bharath for your inputs.

Kindly also confirm below things, how where i can find and how can configure those in azure portal(exact navigations)?

Backup Failure (to get alerts for Backup Failure, you need to register the AFEC flag named EnableAzureBackupJobFailureAlertsToAzureMonitor via the preview portal)

Restore Failure (to get alerts for Restore Failure, you need to register the AFEC flag named EnableAzureBackupJobFailureAlertsToAzureMonitor via the preview portal)

@ManoharKummariGroup-9069 - My sincere apologies for delay in getting back to this thread.

You can follow through below steps on how to register the AFEC flag via portal.

  1. Navigate to Azure Portal

  2. In the search bar look for "Preview Features"

  3. Click on "Preview Features" and then search for "EnableAzureBackupJobFailureAlertsToAzureMonitor " and you should see some thing below

  4. You can register or unregister the flag accordingly.

Hope this information helps and we also take a backlog item to improve the document to reflect the above steps so that its easier to find going forward.

Please review the above information shared and circle back if you have any further queries. Thank you.
