OOBE Set-up on new machines

Hi all,

When running through the oobe on work machines so we can build them for people, we set the language and region as English United Kingdom. We have seen, though, that after running through the oobe and log in, the machine reverts back to English United States in both region and language. Is there something going on during the oobe set-up that might be causing this? We've noticed this since the latest Win10 20H2 update, especially on laptops.

We are using Dell machines for our business, just in case this has any bearing on what may be the cause.

Hi,
Windows install language is the language Windows was originally installed. If no language packs is installed it is also the system language.
English United Kingdom should be your Windows install language.

In addition, here are some posts with the similar issue with yours, just for your reference, you can try the method mentioned in them:

Hi JennyFeng,

Thank you for your response. Our situation though is that we manually set the language and region in the setup process before entering the credentials of the desired user. So the machine is set to Region UK and Language UK while going through the oobe. However, when the setup is complete and it gets to the log-in screen for the first time, the machine has reverted back to Region and Language US.

Hi,
Did you mean you want to retain the keyboards in the image?
You will likely need to apply the keyboard settings to the default profile when in Audit Mode. Audit Mode allows you to perform customizations to the default profile.
Use audit mode to customize your computer
Boot Windows to Audit Mode or OOBE | Microsoft Docs
You can set the default language, location, and keyboard layout using Oobe.xml. The default values you set in Oobe.xml will be the default values the user sees on the Language, Region, and Keyboard layout selection screens during OOBE.
