Updates installation issues

Hi, today I ran test ADR deployed to collection containing test server. ADR completed successfully and I see updates in SUG/deployment package. Also package has been successfully distributed to DP. However I see this in updatesdeployment.log - nothing is happening although e0e0f43b-a923-4a79-af21-16044b9882dd is correct deployment unique ID.

What can I do to sort this out - I do not see any errors in the log but simply nothing is happening.

What do expect to be happening?

What is the deadline on the deployment(s) created by the ADR and associated with the update group?

Hi @BojanZivkovic-7448,

Agree with Jason-MSFT, we should notice the deadline on the deployment, if we select the tab of as soon as possible of installation deadline, it automatically installs the software updates in the deployment as soon as possible.

If we select the tab of specific time, select this setting to automatically install the software updates in the deployment at a specific date and time. Configuration Manager determines the deadline to install software updates by adding the configured Specific time interval to the Software available time.

Here is the screenshot we could refer to:

Both settings are as soon as possible (ADR is deployed to 2 collections).

I see latest CU for April was installed but probably from Internet (I guess I should disable automatic updates via GPO) since nothing was recorded in updatesdeployment.log. Tried on MECM server itself and CU for April is not showing up in SC as past due ...

Hi @BojanZivkovic-7448,

If the update has been installed or is not required, the update will not be shown in the SCCM console. And UpdateStore.log would record updates as missing if they are required. If it is not required or has been installed by client, there is no record in this log. So we could notice the logs to check the status of updates.

I guess I should disable automatic updates via GPO

Yes, you are right. If the the client is managed by the SCCM, we need to disable automatic updates via GPO, just for SCCM.
