Outlook 2019 stuck in endless recalls.

Tried to do email recall. Outlook continuously generates recall failures.

The email account has been restore to all computers.

I can not select "I figure the corruption is coming from Outlook on other computers. This time, I deleted the email account on Iphone, ipad and Windows 10 computers ( have work and home computers) as well as the ost files on the Windows 10 computers. Then I added the email account back to the original computer Outlook that started the recall." as answer.

Hi @techcoor-9538

What's the type of your account(pop,imap or exchange)? Please first understand that recall function could only work for those exchange accounts in the same Exchange server.

There are also many other reasons that would cause recall failure, for more information, please refer to this article: Recall or replace an email message that you sent .If you don’t meet the restrictions and the email recall fails, under normal circumstances, each recipient would send a recall receipt, so whether your recalling messages was sent to multiple recipients?

Also, based on my research, I found a similar thread that mentioned we may receive multiple recall failure messages when we try to recall with imap account, and it says changing the track setting in recipients' client may work, if that's also your case, please kindly check if it could also work for you.

If the issue still exists, in order to avoid the interference of your corrupted outlook data file, it's also suggested to repair data file to check.

If it's still invalid or that's not your case, please provide us more information about your issue.

Type of email account is imap that Outlook 2019 automatically selects.

Your first link does state “Message recall is available after you click Send and is available only if both you and the recipient have a Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Exchange email account in the same organization.” I have neither conditions so I should not use message recall.
I had seen a similar suggestion of unchecking everything under file/options/tracking like the second link suggested. That fix did not work.

I tried deleting the email account and adding it back. That did not work.

My last try was to run the Quick Repair on the Office 2019

Thanks for your update, I have researched and tested a lot with my gmail account(imap) on Outlook 365, on my test, I sent a message to 3 recipients and would only receive 3 recall failure messages. So whether you sent your message to multiple recipients? Then I tried to work offline and delete all related messages(the original sent message and all recall failure messages), but found it wouldn't affect the recall function--I would still receive the recall failure message once the recipient open the message.
If your issue caused by you sent to multiple recipients, as a workaround, it's suggested to create a rule with the subject of message to automatically delete those related messages permanently.
If you actually sent to a few recipients, but still receive multiple messages, I think it may have any exceptions on your mailbox after you initiated an email recall on Outlook, and we may need to contact mailbox server support and check the message queue.

Your first posted suggested to repair the Outlook data file. As far as I know can not repair an ost file.

I tried deleting the ost on the computer that generated the recall and put the email account back. That made things worst by increasing the frequency of the recall failure message.

I figure the corruption is coming from Outlook on other computers. This time, I deleted the email account on Iphone, ipad and Windows 10 computers ( have work and home computers) as well as the ost files on the Windows 10 computers. Then I added the email account back to the original computer Outlook that started the recall.

Thanks for your update and sorry to hear that.
As I mentioned above, could you please tell us whether the message you recalled was sent to many recipients? If the message was only sent to a few recipients and you still received multiple recall failure messages, I think your mailbox itself has been affected and it's suggested to contact your mailbox support directly and check the mail flow to fix it.

The recall was sent to many recipients. The constant recall failure from one recipient.
The last recall failure message was Sunday 12:24am.

I put the email account on a second computer and will slowly add back the email account to all computers.
