Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager v2006 - Administration\Security\Certificates -"Type" Site System - Renewal Process

Hello,

I am using the noted SCCM Deployment version in my companies environment. We do not use PKI or an Internal Certification Authority. My question is where do I find out how to renew the "Issued To" certificates seen for my various Site Systems that are shown in the Security\Certificates menu within the Config Mgr Console?

As I look at them today all the servers with a SCCM Role are set to have their certificate expire next month. The Status of all of them is currently "Unblocked" but I'm not clear on what all will break when the expiration date passes. All these Certs appear to have been Issued By "SMS Issuing" but unfortunately when I click on any of them the "Renew Certificate\Block\UnBlock" options are all Greyed Out.

I am a full Admin for the entire system so permissions should not be the problem. Any ideas on how these Certs get renewed?

Thank you in advance

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

In response to your question, the ConfigMgr will renew the certificates automatically. So that there's no need for you to do anything.

You can check validity period of the certificates after the expiration time of the certificates that is now displayed has passed.
