Do we need to select all accepted domains while running Hybrid Configuration Wizard for Exchange

We have hybrid Configuration with Exchange Online with Exchange 2010 Servers, We have 30+ accepted domains in our environment configured\verified in On-premises Exchange & Exchange Online.

We have already move all our mailboxes to Exchange Online & also moved autodiscover of all our domains to Office365 but still we want to keep our Hybrid Configuration for Management & mail relay.

So we are trying to upgrade the hybrid configuration with Exchange 2016 Servers as Exchange 2010 is EOL.

When We ran hybrid configuration wizard, I came across the Hybrid Domains Page which is populating all our accepted domains & asking us to select the domains for Hybrid & select autodiscover for domain\s. I can see the domains which is part of the current hybrid configuration (Lets say only 7 domains, when we ran HCW in the past with Exchange 2010) are by-default selected. (I got these 7 domains from get-HybridConfigurations).

So my question is do we need to select all accepted domains on this Hybrid Domains page now which then will ask us to add TXT record in Public DNS for Domain Proof or we just need to go with the default selected domains (Lets say only 7 domains)?

what will happen if I won't select all accepted domains (only select 7 domains) in Hybrid Domains page & run HCW? will be there any impact on existing mailboxes in office 365 having email address of those accepted domains? As I said all our mailboxes are on office365, we are using Exchange on-premises for Management purpose (E.g. to modify mail related attributes & remotely creating mailboxes).

Also all autodiscover records now pointed to office365 so Do I need to select False for autodiscover for whatever domains I choose in Hybrid Domains Page?

Thank you in Advance.

Only select the domains mailboxes have in their domain suffix as primary SMTP addresses and used for free/busy.

Since all your mailboxes are in 365 already, the Free/Busy stuff does not apply.

So, really in your scenario, it doesnt matter what domains you choose or how many since you are using this just for mgmt.

Thanks so much AndyDavid for your response. The Accepted Domains that we have are primary for some mailboxes, For example if I have xyz.com accepted domain, we have some mailboxes where xyz.com is primary SMTP for them so I agreed free/busy does not matter here but will be there any impact on mailbox in Office365 having primary smtp with xyz.com.

And Do we need select autodiscover to False for every domain which I choose here as Autodiscover of all domains is already pointed to Office365.

Correct, set the autodiscover to false for all domains. You would only set to true if you want to force the wizard to use a specific domain.

It wont have any impact on the 365 mailboxes. If everything is already moved to 365 and autodiscover has been set to 365 as well, then you are good to go. Those mailboxes will have no reason to look on-prem nor do you need to move mailboxes to 365, so no effect.

Hi @SunnyK-8246 ,
Agree with Andy. If you only perform some management in on-premises Exchange server, and all mailboxes have been migrated to Exchange online. Then adding an accepted domain will not affect you much. You could run the following command to remove the SCP values on your Exchange server. This ensures that on SCP's are returned.

 Get-ClientAccessService | Set-ClientAccessService -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri $Null
