SharePoint Document Links not working

The links to files from SharePoint (2016) do not seem to be working any more. I am copying the link from the ellipsis and I get the following format for the link as an example:

https://XXXXXXX/sites/pdm/projects/E22646/_layouts/15/DocIdRedir.aspx

This link does not open the file. It appears as if the Document ID has not been added to the URL automatically.

Can you please assist?

Hi @LidiaRabbone-0047 ,

Did you copy the link from the Document library? Usually the end of the URL in this way should be the file name, however your Url seems to be an .aspx page at the end.

Can you let me know where the ellipsis copied the link from?

I copied the link just as you have shown. Yes, I agree it looks like the document ID has not been added to the URL properly in SharePoint.

I should mention that Document IDs have been set up for the Collection.

Do you know why it is doing this?

Hi ,

Did you configure it correctly according to the official documentation?
Activate and configure Document IDs in a site collection

I did a test in my SP2016 and it worked well:

In addition, as the post mentioned, document id is added asynchronously in most cases and the appropriate timer jobs by default are configured to run once in the evening. Did you wait at least 1 day after activated feature?
