Hi, 2016 Farm Running SharePoint Active Directory Import. Appeared someone had configured the full profile Sync Timer Job to run every 5 minutes which appears excessive
There are hundreds of users who no longer work in the business appearing in people search and we need to remove them with minimal impact.
The AD import process fails and ULS logs are not conclusive. Investigation into the sync connection shows that it was pointing at an empty AD directory. Users report that job titles were changed 18 months ago and not reflecting on profiles so its clear the sync has not run for a long time.
Still trying to ascertain internally from AD team wether or not any AD directory changes have occurred as I see no reason to why the sync connection settings would have changed to point at a different user location.
Checking to see if these would impact the current setup or profile db. I am trying to minimalise impact to user profiles.
Choosing top level domain in Sync connection to sync everything - does this keep the current info in the profile DB or cause any issues? I am waiting on response from AD team on what is the correct active user group to sync I did not want to just highlight everything.
Does the mysite cleanup job still operate when user profile is failing to import? there are around 100 profiles marked for deletion that have not been deleted which should have been cleared out.
Thanks sorry my UPA knowledge is limited.
