Could you please provide a screenshot of the detailed error message?
Based on your description, I have some questions as below.
Does this error occur on specific or all Word documents?
Do other Office Online applications like Excel Online files have similar issue?

If so, as said in this article, "If you are facing such type of issue, assign Private or Public certificate to your Exchange server and distribute same certificate to the client on which you are going to open the attachment of Word on OWA.
