Sensitivity Label and Encryption Button in Outlook

Hello

I just applied some sensitivity labels in Office 365 and activated Azure information protection.

In outlook I see an encrypt button. Can this button be disabled in favour of using the sensitvity label?

What is the difference between encrypt and using sensitivity labels?

Thanks

The Encrypt Only and Do not Forward are part of OME.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/ome?view=o365-worldwide

These and the labels compliment each other, but the OME stuff is "built-in" so to speak.

@AndyDavid I briefly saw an encryption button on Outlook web app but it disappeared and became just sensitivity label.

Should there be an encryption button in Outlook web app?

Thanks

@AndyDavid Thank you one last question

When creating Sensitivity labels I see this option:

Remove encryption if the file is encrypted

What exactly does this mean. I read the microsoft article here;: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/encryption-sensitivity-labels?view=o365-worldwide

But the explanation is a bit confusion can you elaborate?

Thank you

@AndyDavid I added a sensitivity label that is suppose to encrypt a message and then send the email to an external user. The external user just receive the email wihout any encryption.

Do the sensitivity labels only encrypt for internal email?

No, they work for all. What is the exact config you have set this label.
