Azure reservation scoped to a set of subscriptions

Hi,
We have an EA agreement with MS and there are 100s of subscriptions in that. Out of them, 10 subscriptions are owned by my division. We are considering purchasing reservations for our division. Shared scope sounds exciting to us, but we are worried our reservations will flow out to the other 90 subscriptions if I enable scope as shared.

How can we make sure that my reservation only applies to the 10 subscriptions we have?

@SimarpreetSingh-9252 - Thank you for your post!

Are these 10 subscriptions in a management group?

@SimarpreetSingh-9252 You can assign Azure Reserved VM Instances benefits at the enrollment or subscription levels, and easily change assignments post purchase, as necessary. Assignment allows you to decide whether the reserved instance is applied at the Azure account/enrollment or subscription level. This gives you flexibility for savings. For example, if you want to buy reserved instances to save money for your organization, you can assign all Azure Reserved VM Instances at the account level. Conversely, if a business unit, such as finance, wants to buy an Azure Reserved VM Instance for its own use only, it can be assigned to a subscription where only that group can take advantage of the savings.

Hope this helps!

Hello @SimarpreetSingh-9252 , thanks for your post. To add to the previous answer: Shared scope certainly makes sense in your scenario.
I recommend locking down who can manage your team's reservation order + child reservations to ensure your reservation discounts do not flow to resources outside the 10 designated subscriptions.
