File Resource Manager: File Screening

Hi,

I have a file server resource manager installed on my win2019 server. I have configured file screening on a particular folder where I am blocking users to copy audio, video, .exe & .msi files.

Files are getting blocked as per the policy but .exe & .msi files, when archived in RAR or zip policy, don't work. If I directly copy .exe it won't allow copying but if .exe is in .rar or .zip format then it allows to copy. Is there any setting where we can block .exe which are in .rar or .zip?

Please let me know.

Regards
Imran Shaikh

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Would you mind share the method you used to create this restriction?
Let say you copy the zip or rar files and then you want to unzip a .exe or copy it out of the zip file, does it work?

Hi,

Configuration:
1. From File Screen Template, I edited Block Audio and Video Files and added .exe & .msi extensions.
2. Next from File Screens, I created a new file screen on the folder and applied Block Audio and Video Files template.

To answer your question, If I try to unzip the folder it gives access denied for .exe & .msi files but my main purpose is to block these files copying in the folder if they are in .rar or .zip format.
