Hello everyone,

I encountered this error while trying to install printer drivers (SATO) on Windows Server 2008 SP2.

The error is displayed both when trying to install drivers directly from the package (exe) and when manually loading on the print server (driver management).

The only KB I found for this is here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/0x0000007f-stop-error-on-a-windows-based-computer-b44655c5-581f-0d4d-94ec-6fe54570b028

However, the hotfix is not free to download and I can't reach it.

Did any of you meet the same message or be able to advise me what to do with it?

Many thanks for an answer in advance!

See this link for troubleshooting:

If you're not familiar with windbg then post mini dump files for debugging with msinfo32 saved as nfo.

Hi,

there is no mini dump files (C:\Windows\Minidump*) because the system did not fall to BSOD.
I became the error message during trying to add print-drivers for SATO.

Msinfo 32 is in attachment.

Hi,
Thank you for your post.
According to your description, your system version is Windows Server 2008 SP2. For the link you mentioned, it refers to Windows Server 2008 R2.
Any way I consider this issue could be related to Windows Hotfix. Some file version need to be updated.
Because hotfix are included in Security Updates. So check Windows update install history, installing newer security update to check.

Also you can download Windows Server 2008 SP2 from Microsoft Windows Update.
Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.
Best Regards,
Carl

Hi CarlFan,

thanks for reply. You are right, it is Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Update does not offer me newer security update.
What next? Should I reinstall SP2 again?

Thanks.
Robin

This is product environment with terminal server and multiple accounts, I am not able simply change language.

And as I wrote, there was any BSOD and error message is based on installing new printer drivers.
