why is this latest update to Edge (the one that changed the icon) so slow to open?

The previous version of Edge worked just fine on my computer (it is less than a year old). This update (that changed the icon) takes more than two minutes to open. I have turned off the syncing in case that was the problem, but it has not helped.

Your use of tags is confusing. I have no idea if I choose the correct one.
