SCCM CLIENT PACKAGE POST BUILD

HI Everyone,

Hope all would be safe and sound along with their loved ones.

Need someone’s small experience regarding a post-build activity that we are trying to complete after upgrading our sccm server from 1910 to 2010.

While we have successfully upgraded our sccm server to 2010 and updated the client in pre-production collection with the latest client package named “configuration manager client staging”

Currently, we have a new client package name “configuration manager client staging” that was created post-build so after getting the confirmation that all work well with the new client package we would promote it to production one under the monitoring section so the pre-production changes would be replicated to the production one.

Need the confirmation on the below query:

After promoting the pre production client to production do we need to change the client package in our task sequence or the default client package would be updated and there is no need to change the client package in the task sequence.

Hope to hear back by someone on this.

Regards,

Shashi Dubey

Once you promote the staging package, the default package will also update. As for your TS, if you are using the default package then you don’t need to do anything. However, if you are using a custom client package then you will need to update the content manually.
