windows 7 installation

Hi,

We have a product with Windows7 Enterprise which is EOS on oct 2020. Now Microsoft will provide a license key to avail the extended support, Our software need to be supported with latest windows key.

So my question is, Is there any process where we can directly update the license key on the current systems and keep using our product without any issues or do we need to build the complete OS image with integrating our Software by applying the License key in the UnAttended answer file and capture the image of the system?

Please guide me is there any process/tools is required to do this?

Ok Overall what i understood is before installing and activating ESU License key provided by Microsoft i need to install some of the updates as per the below link:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/procedure-to-continue-receiving-security-updates-after-extended-support-ends-on-january-14-2020-48c59204-fe67-3f42-84fc-c3c3145ff28e

Once the above prerequisites are installed i can activate the ESU License Key using slmgr tool.
And installing the ESU product key will not replace the existing Windows OS Product key on the device.

Is my understanding is correct? or anything else need to be done along with the above procedure?

Hi,

When will the ESU offer be available?
ESU has been available in the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) since April 1, 2019, and from Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs) since Monday, December 2, 2019.

Where can I find out more about purchasing and installing Windows 7 ESU in Year 2?
The process for purchasing and installing ESU in Year 2 is identical to the process for Year 1.
