Why does the autofill address in Outlook pop up off the screen in the new update? It is useless.

Office updated yesterday, now the Outlook autofill addresses are mostly not visible on the screen and cannot be dragged to a new position.

Hi @MarkShoalts-1374,

Do you mean that your autocomplete list is displayed upward, and some items at the top will extend beyond the window?

If so, as I know, this is a known issue on Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2019--Version 2104 (Build 13929.20296), for more information, please refer to this article : AutoComplete list scrolls off the screen in Outlook.

The current workaround is to delete/rename this value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\DisableAutoCompleteUpdate

But according to my research, it could work for some clients, but some couldn't, please kindly check if it could be helpful to you.

If that's invalid, considering it could work normally on previous version, as another workaround, it's suggested to disable auto-update and revert your office version via command like below:

cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\
OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462

I will continue to monitor it in latest version of Outlook client, and if there are any updates, I would post back. Also welcome other users who has any updates post here :)

Thank you for your response, that is exactly my problem. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that I shouldn't have to do a work-around to continue using a product that I pay for, especially when the company was "updating" it which I naively take to mean improving it.
So when GM does an update on my car and my turn signals quit working, they will ignore me and my local mechanic will say just stick your arm out the window?

Hi @MarkShoalts-1374,

Are you still researching for it ? Based on my tests on the latest version of Outlook client (Version 2104 Build 13929.20386), it could work normally there, it's recommended to update your Outlook to fix this issue.

Hope that would be helpful to you :)
