SSAS with MDX Cubes with Partitions

In onpremises, I have an SSAS MDX Cube which has Partitions and the backend database is SQL Server.

. If i am migrating my SSAS Cubes to Azure VM (ReHost) and database to Azure SQL , will there be any problem , considering that there are SSAS Cube Partitions.

Note: I know , we need DMA/DMS for migration of onprem SQL to Azure SQL , but my question is very specific to SSAS Cube Partitions having impact on Application migratiion to Azure Cloud.

Please help

At the moment, there's only one way to run SSAS MD in Azure, and this is to get a virtual server running SSAS MD. The SSAS MD instance running in an Azure VM will have all the features based on its version and edition. You are likely to encounter partition-related problems if you are migrating from Enterprise edition to Standard edition. There's also a slight chance that some problems might crop up if you change SSAS version, e.g. 2012 to 2019.

1) is SSAS 2012 still supported. Has it reached End of Life ?

2) What features of SSAS 2012 of MDX Cubes are not supported in SSAS 2019 ?

Please help

Hi,

For installing SSAS on Azure VM , should i take the image of SQL on Azure VM image , which already has SQL Server installed on it. Will it help me for installing SSAS on Azure VM ?

Please advise.

Note: i am aware that i can use Azure VM to install everything , but if something comes pre-installed , it is less effort for me . I know i have to buy the license for SQL.
