RDMA SMB - BSOD (LM_SERVER_INTERNAL_ERROR)

Hello,

We have next env:
Windows Server 2016
mellanox Connectx-3 (fw:2.42.5000; winof: 5.50.53)

Created hyper-v team switch, then vNICs, qos, etc...

When RDMA enabled on one vnics and disabled on other vnics and copying big file ~20TB - smb server is crashed with error LM_SERVER_INTERNAL_ERROR:
PS C:\Users\pnd> get-netadapterrdma

Name InterfaceDescription Enabled

vEthernet (v23-cluster) Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #3 False
vEthernet (v22-lm) Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #2 True
vEthernet (v21) Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter False
ib2 Mellanox ConnectX-3 Ethernet Adapter True
ib1 Mellanox ConnectX-3 Ethernet Adapter #2 True

When copying small file ~1TB - smb server not crashed
When rdma is disabled and no matter for file size - smb server not crached.

Thanks.

Hi,

  1. You can try to install the latest system version to see if it works.

  2. You can start the computer in clean boot to prevent the influence of anti-virus software.

  3. You can try to test your RAM via MEM Test86 tool.

Best Regards,
Ansley

i tested this on two different servers, result is the same.
on one - windows is updated, on second last update was ~6 month ago.

I forgot that i enabled the option "defer update" in windows update :)
I install latest updates and BSOD is fixed (i think this update https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/february-9-2021-kb4601318-os-build-14393-4225-c5e3de6c-e3e6-ffb5-6197-48b9ce16446e fixed), but now i get the error 0x80070079 at smb client side.
so BSOD at smb server side is changed to the error 0x80070079 at smb client side... yes its better :)))

I disabled Multichannel in SMB and error has gone.
