Mapped Drives

Hi All,

I seem to be having a problem everytime I login to a server using RDP. Basically, drives appear to be mapped from my local PC.

see attachment.

I am unsure of why this is happening and I certainly don't have any GPOs for my local machine.#

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

My understanding is you connect to the remote server via RDP, but you find that there are mapped drives under This PC. Actually you didn't map these drives on the remote server, you map these drives on your local desktop. Is my understanding correct here?

Best Regards,
Sunny

Hi Sunny,

Thanks for taking the time out to reply. Yes your understanding is correct.

I am in the process of checking the RDP connection configs.

Hello czql5v-1676,

These drives are probably mapped by Remote Desktop itself, using the Remote Desktop protocol. If the output of "net use" shows TSCLIENT (Terminal Services Client) as the server name, then that is what they are.
