SSRS 2019 An Error has Occured - can't delete report

I've got an interesting issue that I can't seem to resolve. I've been setting up a new SSRS server (first time), and the majority of my reports have been deployed fine to it. However there are a couple which I am having trouble with. I can't bring up the options on them, right clicking on them immediately brings up a "An Error has Occured - Something went wrong. Please Try Again Later". So I can't delete the report, change the permissions, any of the context options. The report seems to run fine though when you click on it. Can select the parameters and run the report.

I had a look in my RSPortal log file and I can see the following when I try to bring up the context menu on the report (I've replaced my account name):

Sending response. Response code DOMAIN\ACCOUNT 200, Elapsed time 0:00:00.0168638
Sending response. Response code DOMAIN\ACCOUNT 404, Elapsed time 0:00:00.0008249

I'm not getting anywhere fast in resolving this. Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks

Found the issue, the reports I had problems with had an apostrophe on the report name. It allowed me to deploy it it to the SSRS server from Visual Studio, but it wouldn't let me manage the report. I couldn't delete the individual reports affected, so I couldn't stop them inheriting the permissions, so ultimately I had to delete the entire folder that the reports sat it. Frustrating, but it's set up how I want it now.

Hi @BrianHunter-3290 ,
Judging from your description so far, it is difficult to see where the problem lies.
When the issue reappears, you could find the corresponding error information in the following path:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services\SSRS\LogFiles.
And check whether there is error information in the Event Viewer.

Joy

Hi Joy

Thanks for your reply. The only mention in the log files you've specified was in the RSPortal log file, which had the errors I mentioned:

Sending response. Response code DOMAIN\ACCOUNT 200, Elapsed time 0:00:00.0168638
Sending response. Response code DOMAIN\ACCOUNT 404, Elapsed time 0:00:00.0008249

None of the other log files seem have anything that relate to the error, or the time stamps when the error appears. Similarly the windows event logs come up with nothing.

Do you happen to know if there another method to delete reports from SSRS other than the front end? I wonder if there is another method I could try?

Thanks
Brian

Hi @BrianHunter-5315
I'm sorry for the late reply.
To be honest, because the forum does not support viewing the report environment, we generally can only find the reason through the error log. When the error log does not show a specific error, the probability that this type of error issue can be resolved is not very high, so I suggest you can choose Microsoft's phone support (you will need to pay a fee), and your issue will be properly resolved.
