Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Hello,
A couple of comments.
To format in diskpart you have to select the partition to format, you just have the disk selected.
Question, why are you formatting the disk in FAT32 and then formatting in Rufus as NTFS?

Is explorer open to Volume E?
Is there a CMD prompt open to Volume E?
Are there any other disk utilities that have Volume E Loaded?

before using fomat fs=fat32 quick, I used fomat fs=ntfs and fomat fs=ntfs quick but there was same issue.

Is explorer open to Volume E? No
Is there a CMD prompt open to Volume E? No
Are there any other disk utilities that have Volume E Loaded? No

Glad to hear issues resolved.

I would like to know, how to check and diagnose USB drive issue?

For this new topic about hardware diagnostics I'd suggest starting a new thread.

Agree with Darrell, you can follow along here to prepare the USB
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-essentials/install/create-a-bootable-usb-flash-drive

or even easier is to let the media creation tool do it all for you.

Hi,
As rufus is a third-party software, I recommend you to use the official media creation tool to create a bootable US for Windows 10.

Hope above information can help you.

I downloaded ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10.

Most of Techies recommend Rufus for creating bootable. I also created previously many times.

As you said, As rufus is a third-party software, I recommend you to use the official media creation tool to create a bootable US for Windows 10.

In case of media creation tool, I see two options; upgrade existing Windows and download ISO.

Please let us know, what else should I use for creating bootable?

Best Regards

Hi from the sounds of it you wish to wipe your USB. run Diskpart in CMD like you have and run the following as seen in my screen shot this will wipe the whole drive, you can then create a new partition in disk management. ![96675-image.png][1] [1]: /answers/storage/attachments/96675-image.png

Simplest solution may be to follow the instruction here.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

I gone through from the above link.

USB flash drive. Attach a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.
ISO file. Save an ISO file to your PC, which you can use to create a DVD. After the file is downloaded, you can go to location where the file is saved, or select Open DVD burner, and follow the instructions to burn the file to a DVD. For more info about using an ISO file, see Additional methods for using the ISO file to install Windows 10 section below.

In case of USB flash drive, I attached USB flash drive of 16GB but to make the USB drive bootable, I think, we need some applications like Rufus.

In case of ISO file, nowadays rarely DVD burner is used. Moreover, recently I downloaded ISO from ttps://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10. Its size is 7.98 GB. For this I think dual-layer DVD will be required.

That's why please let us know alternate way for creating bootable USB.

When using the Microsoft website ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 )the flash drive should be:
a) formatted fat32
b) in esd
c) bootable on computers that have BIOS Legacy or UEFI

If you prefer command line then these should produce similar results:

list disk
select disk 2
clean
convert mbr
create partition primary
format fs=fat32 quick
active
assign

  • I click the Download now button then

  • it downloads and I run MediaCreationTool20H2.exe

  • Accept license terms

  • Radio button for Create installation media

  • set language / architecture

  • USB

  • Select the USB I want it to use

  • It prepares the USB disk and writes the image to it

To all, I would like to explain what I did and issue resolved.

Previously I downloaded Windows 10 32-bit and 64-bit both. That’s why the ISO size is 7.98 GB.

Now I downloaded only 64-bit, its size is 4.58 GB. Then I used another USB drive whose size is 8GB.

First, I checked as below:
96842-untitled7.png

It means the USB drive is in MBR.

Now I used Rufus and selected same options that I shared in the question.

No error message and bootable USB created.

Previously I created bootable USB for Windows 10 this way many times.

That’s why I was confused and doubt for issue in USB drive.

Also I asked Moreover, how do I know, if any issue in USB flash drive?

At the end, thanks to all for giving your time.

As issue is resolved, however, I would like to know, how to check and diagnose USB drive issue?

With Regards
NndnG
