Windows10 BitLocker Recovery Key - No place to enter the key

To troubleshoot the slow windows 10 login on my Lenovo X1 carbon laptop, I am trying to restart the laptop on safe mode. However, when I go through Startup Settings, I get the message "You must enter your Recovery key to access startup settings ". The recovery id is not provided and the box to enter the recovery key is also missing. When I hit enter to continue, the following message is displayed.
"Restart your PC to try again.
It looks like something didn't load correctly. Restarting might fix the problem. If this happens more than once, you might also be able to find help by searching online for the specific error code.
Error code: 8007139f"

Any help to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated!

BitLocker locks the drive if you go into safe-mode or remove the drive...That is a normal function to protect your data.
You could just restart computer and check whether you could configure safe mode this time.
If still no help, you need to decrypt C partition firstly, then go into the bios settings and enable secure-boot, restart computer. Now you could check safe boot option in msconfig.

Thanks for the quick response. I could enter safe mode by checking safe boot option in msconfig and restarting the computer. The login time was about a second which is great. I am still not able to figure out the over 45 seconds windows login time in normal mode. Wonder if it is one of the windows updates!

Suspend bitlocker, then go into safe mode.

I was able to login through safe mode and it took only less than 2 seconds. However, when I login through normal mode, it is taking 45 to 50 seconds.

Please update Windows to the latest build, then open task manager to check startup items, disable unnecessary and unknown startups.

You could use Windows performance toolkit, capture boot trace for analysis
