Unable to communicate with MessageBox BizTalkMsgBoxDb on SQL Instance

Hi Guys,

In my biztalk prod server eventlog i'm seeing below error

Unable to communicate with MessageBox BizTalkMsgBoxDb on SQL Instance . Error Code: 0xc0c01b45. Possible reasons include:
1) The MessageBox is unavailable.
2) The network link from this machine to the MessageBox is down.
3) The DTC Configuration on either this local machine or the machine hosting this MessageBox is incorrect.

Database Names:
1) BizTalkMgmtDb
2) SSODB
3) BizTalkMsgBoxDb

But biztalk server working fine and message processing fine too and when i checked in sql server I cant see any errors related to biztalk server and I checked connection using test-dtc command everything looks fine. how to find root cause for these error.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

It it only occurs for a short time it would be rather hard to find the root cause. Was there any patching occurring around that time, was there any know network issues?

Hi There,

Thank you for asking this question on the Microsoft Q&A Platform.

There could be multiple reasons for this error as already included in the error log,

1) The MessageBox is unavailable.
2) The network link from this machine to the MessageBox is down.
3) The DTC Configuration on either this local machine or the machine hosting this MessageBox is incorrect.

As you had already verified the BizTalk box and SQL and unable to find anything then I would suggest checking the network log as well during the time of this error.

Also check all the parameters in BizTalk/SQL box, as CPU uses or Memory uses or Spool count or message load during the time of this error.
