Teams for Linux: how to prevent window repositioning on focus gained?

This is a strange bug, but very annoying: in short, the MS Teams for Linux client always reposition itself to the top left corner, behind the Gnome panel, once the window regain focus.

This is extremely annoying because you have to chase the Teams window around the screen every time you alt tab to another app (e.g. a Browser) and then you want to press a button on Teams (e.g. unmute).

I'm also experiencing another bug, probably related to the previous one: if you resize the window above a certain size (my screen resolution is 3440x1440), the MS Teams window become completely unresponsive to mouse interaction (the clicks are not registered and I can't even move the window dragging it). The only workaround is to use keyboard shortcuts to resize the window again or kill and restart the app.

I'm using Fedora 33.
Dual screen setup (1920x1080 + 3440x1440)
Teams Linux client version 1.4.00.7556 and is the only app that behave like this.

I just noticed that the issue happens only on the Primary Display (the number 2 on the screenshot):

Unfortunately that is the scree I use the most, so this is still very annoying.

Hi @RobertoLeinardi

Due to the limitation of the test environment, we cannot reproduce the same issue in our environment. According to your description, it looks the issue is only happened in Screen 2. In this way, could you try to set the same settings(adjust the Resolution to 1920*1080) like Screen 1 to see if it works?

Hi @JimmyYang-MSFT, thank you for your reply.

I tried to set the Screen 2 to the same resolution of the Screen 1 but the issue still happens:

Let me know if I can help in some other way. If needed, I'm available to do some remote debug sessions.

This issue rings a lot of bells for me, too. It also only happens on one display, in this case the high resolution (~4K) laptop monitor. If the window is larger than a certain size, then it resizes itself to a smaller size when going back and forth from one app to another.

If, however, the Teams window is maximized, it will look like it's flickering back and forth from the smaller size back to maximize. This flicker usually takes about half to a full second to resolve itself. It's quite annoying since it always affects the bottom of the window where the new message box is and takes the focus away from the new message box after it's done.

The effect is worse when on a real chat or teams channel where there's something to render.
