Yes/No Column default changed in site columns but still not changed in Content Type in SharePoint Online

Here is the behaviour:

Column ABC was set to default o "No" and added to Content Type XYZ which is used in a list DEF

Column ABC default changed to "Yes" and re-added (Remove-Save-Add-Save) to Content Type XYZ

In list DEF when create an item column ABC still default to "No"

Is this behaviour is known or unknown bug?

I figured out and resolved the issue - The "Yes/No" column in question is used in Templates which are used to create news announcements. the default was set in the template, which overwrites the site column default. I now changed this column's default from "No" to "Yes". Then news announcement tagging sees this column has default value of "Yes", so everything is working correctly now

@YiruChen-1261

Per my test, after setting custom Yes/No column default as Yes and re-adding the custom Yes/No column to content type, when I add a new item in the list, the custom Yes/No column default is Yes. But the column value of the existing item is still No.

Behaviour in my case is different, what could be the cause of the problem?

@YiruChen-1261

Whether the custom column is a list column or a site column?
