After adding workspace url I get the message Cookies are required on MacOS

My work has provided me with a Windows Virtual Desktop instance that we can leverage Remote Desktop to connect. While going through the steps, I added the Workspace URL https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery and entered my work login credentials. In the small page screen I get the messages "For security reasons, we require additional information to verify your account" which seems normal. Right below that I see - "Cookies are required. Cookies are disabled on your browser. Please enable Cookies and refresh this page." Since Safari is the only browser I have installed on my MacBook Air, I have unchecked Website tracking - Prevent cross-site tracking, Cookies and website data: Block all cookies is unchecked as well as Web advertising: Allow privacy-preserving measurement of ad effectiveness under Preferences. In Microsoft Remote Desktop, I have unchecked use system proxy configuration and Use hardware acceleration and still keeps saying that Cookies are required. Is there anywhere else I could change or is there a command to enable cookies to connect to my Remote Desktop?

My OS - Big Sur 11.3.1
Microsoft Remote Desktop - 10.6.6 (1883)
Safari 14.1 (16611.1.21.161.6)

Hello @SydneyForrester-2342 ,

Great job! Windows Virtual Desktop has V1 & V2 (arm-based and managed through Azure portal) versions which have different web client url and Workspace url. Based on your workspace URL https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery, it is V2 version and its web client url should be: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/arm/webclient.

Hello @SydneyForrester-2342 ,

1.Which version of Windows Virtual Desktop do you use, 2019 Fall release or 2020 Spring Update?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/connect-macos
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/virtual-desktop-fall-2019/connect-macos-2019
2.Will the issue be reproduced if you install other browser like Firefox?
3.Can you log in successfully with Remote Desktop Web Client with private browsing?
4.Did you restart or reset Safari after enabling cookies? Did you choose "Only from sites you navigate to" under Accept Cookies?

5.For additional help with Safari, click "Help" in your browser menu or please see Apple's Support.

Good afternoon Leila,

1) According to the application, I'm using Version 10.6.6 (1883). The app store does not show it needs to be updated.

2) If I navigate from Opera to the Web Client page (https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/webclient/index.html), I am able to sign in and authenticate properly. However, it doesn't launch the application and I get a message stating "It looks like your system administrator hasn’t set up any resources"

3) If I navigate via a new private browser window in Safari, I get the same message that Cookies are required.

4) If I turn off Prevent cross-site tracking and restart Safari, I can log into the Web Client page and I get the same message as I do in Opera from #2.

5) I looks like the settings from the application (Microsoft Remote Desktop) is not taking my current Safari configuration because it still shows cookie message after I provide my credentials. I am able to get the app working properly from my iPhone.

Hello @SydneyForrester-2342 ,

Thanks for your information.

Windows Virtual Desktop has two versions, one is 2019 Fall release (WVD V1) and the other 2020 Spring Update (WVD V2), not the version of Microsoft Remote Desktop.
For V1, web client url is: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/webclient/index.html
Workspace url: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/feeddiscovery/webfeeddiscovery.aspx
For V2, web client url is: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/arm/webclient
Workspace url: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery

Please match your Workspace URL and Web Client page correctly, in accordance with that from your iPhone.

I'm using the Microsoft Remote Desktop client for MacOS.. As I mentioned in my original post, I'm using the workspace URL https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery. When the popup for the authentication credentials pop up, I enter my corporate email and password then it indicates cookies are required. I have attached a picture for reference.

I found a version of the software that seems to work better than the current version that is in the Mac OS App Store. I'm currently suing 10.4.0 (1808) and I was able to use the application without running into the enable cookies on your browser. I am now able to connect to my work virtual desktop pc.104896-screen-shot-2021-06-11-at-31600-pm.png104897-screen-shot-2021-06-11-at-31548-pm.png

I'll give the latest Beta a try and see if it as successful as the one I am using.

The latest beta seems to have the cookie issue that I reported earlier. I'll stay with the current version that is functional.
