Exchange 2016 - external sender to a Universal Distribution List

Hi Expert,

i created a Universal Distribution List "u.personale@blablabla.it" (from administrative console of exchange 2016).
The group works well if i send it an email from an internal address @blablabla.it ; but if I send an email from an external address (for example @gmail.com or @outlook.it), I receive, in my mail gmail or outlook account, a response of error message after few seconds:

"Object: Delivery Status Notification (Failure)

Address not found
Your message has not been delivered to u.personale@blablabla.it because the address does not exist or cannot receive emails.

The remote server response is: 550 5.1.1 User Unknown"

Other Distribution Groups, created previously on Exchange 2010, work fine and receive email from internal and external address.

There's something wrong, but I can't understand where is the uncorrect configuration; please coul tou help me?

Thank you :)

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Does the group allow external senders?

If it does, then it indicated you may have some other SMTP gateway in front of your Exchange Org that accepts mail from the internet and it doesnt know about this new DL you created. Is that the case?

Hi Andy,

thank you for your reply.
I forgot to mention that I've already flag the option "Senders inside and outside of my organization".
I confirm that we checked all SMTP gateway options and are correct, nothing wrong.

What Server generated that message?
The remote server response is: 550 5.1.1 User Unknown"

If you Exchange Server is rejecting these, then check message tracking. What does message tracking show?

Hi,
You should search the message tracking log first: Search message tracking logs

And make sure Recipient Filtering or mail flow rule is not affect the mail flow. See Antispam protection in Exchange Server.

Is @blablabla.it your origin domain or a relay domain by the way?
