Why do you get search related errors when backing up sharepoint a sa full farm backup?

Hi,

I have to restore a SP 2013 farm - all of it - search, web apps, custom code - the lot....to a new farm...

I have carried out a full farm backup but in spbackup.log i get lots of errors related to search dbs...here is one of many:

FatalError: Object Bld_SP2013_Service_Search failed in event OnBackupComplete. For more information, see the spbackup.log or sprestore.log file located in the backup directory.
Aborted due to error in another component.

Why do i get backup errors related to search in a full farm backup please?

Hello @SHAREPOINTER ,

According to my understanding of your problem, when you performing a full backup, you find backup errors involving the Search Service database.

Solution:

1.Identify the Search Service Account.

2.Navigate to the intranet folder to which you intend to write full farm backups

3Grant the Search Service Account the following permissions to this folder:

  • Read

  • Write

For more information, please see this post "SharePoint 2013: FatalError: Object Search Service failed in event OnBackup".

Thanks,
Echo Du
