Cost Breakdown Azure Machine Learning

HI,
I have recently created pay as you go on Azure Machine Learning on 05/14.
I have created billing and cost alerts to the account.

However there is no analysis, no work or data upload that i have done so far and i have still been charged with INR 300.

The breakdown shows as :

  • Virtual Machine - 150

  • load Balancer - 50

  • Storage - 60

  • Others : virtual network etc.

There is no compute instance that is currently assigned as well.
Please advice if my system is idle or i am not using Azure ML do i still get charged. Also do i need to delete the storage account, VM etc everytime when i log out from the account.

@ShiviBhatia-7737 Sorry for the inconvenience this must have caused!

Microsoft will charge you only for the services being used. For example: If you spin up a VM in Azure for testing purpose and then delete it. You will be billed only for the time the VM was active and if there is any data that's being stored as part of the VM that was deleted, you will be billed for the data as long as it is stored in the underlying storage account. When you delete that storage account and other associated resources of that VM, your billing will be stopped.

Thanks @SadiqhAhmed-MSFT. Since there was no data upload i am still not able to understand why there were charges . I will open up a support case. Thank you.

@ShiviBhatia-7737 I understand your concern. Though there was no data upload but you are being charged so that requires some investigation and am sure the support team will be able to resolve this issue.

Please share an update once the issue is resolved.

Thanks. There is a revert that the charges will be waived off but that is what i am not interested in. Its barely a $5 charge but for someone to keep using and understanding why there are charges that is still open. A log file was sent but that doesnt help.
Today i realised i had 2 storage accounts - one one azure portal and one on Azure ML. there are charges on Azure portal storage when there is no activity.
MS should have a drop down that says - your resources. Currently you have to hit and run and the panel and information is not easy for a naive.
