Failed to Download Content ID . Error: There was an Error Downloading the Software Update (16389)

Hi! Everyone,

Today, I encountered an error "Failed to Download Content ID . Error: There was an Error Downloading the Software Update (16389)" while downloading updates.

Our environment is a closed network. SCCM is sync with WSUS and the updates are manually downloaded from Microsoft Catalog using the URL from the update.

Can anyone point me to a solution?

Thank you and best regards.
Ronald

Hi! Rahul,

Ok, the issue has been resolved. All I tried was to launch the console with Administrative Rights and everything was ok.

Thank you for all the advice.

Best regards.

Hi! Rahul,

After I placed the downloaded package to a depository. I activate download and point.to that depository. It has always worked but is failing despite the package being created in the package but download status is still showing No.

Any idea?

Thanks. Any help appreciated.

I understand now. Maybe try downloading the content again. However, the manual process like this will always have issues. You should look at allowing SCCM to download the update content automatically for you.

Hi! Rahul,

Thanks for replying. I have downloaded a couple of times but to no avail. Any other possible issues that I can try?

Thanks.
