Optimize file storage in UPD

Hello. We use UPD to store user files on the terminal farm.

I want to optimize my file storage as much as possible.
For instance AppData\Local\Microsoft takes up a lot of file space.

Am I correct in understanding that I can exclude this folder as it does not carry anything important?

What else can I exclude?

Any tips for optimizing what I don't need to store?

Hello @47451047

You could check in this thread, what they have exclude for UPD.
Server 2012 R2 RDSH User profile disks, exclude temp directories

Our solution was to change UPD settings from "Include all data", to "Only include selected data".

This way, rather than attempting to exclude folders we didn't want, we simply include folders we do want. By default, appdata\local and all sub directories are excluded, meaning the temp folder is also excluded, allowing us to do what we want to do.

Best Regards
Karlie

I found that I cannot exclude AppData \ Local \ Microsoft as this is where the Start screen layout is stored

As a result, I don't have many options that can be ruled out. Temp folder only
