Domain Time is Fast

My time runs fast by 4 minutes. I've tried changing to a government time server. It doesn't change. How do I fix it?

It's strange. I run the same command in the same city at two separate locations and get completely different results. The o-261 must be the offset. Divided by 60 it's exactly 4.35mins which is what we are off by. Is there a way to adjust it?

You can manually adjust it until you can get to the bottom of why the PDCe cannot reach a valid time server.

I believe I asked how do you adjust the dc time manually. If i could adjust my domain time manually this wouldn't be an issue.

Also, I believe the hyperv domain controllers are synchronizing cmos time from one of my hyperv hosts. I've tried to update the default time server on the hyperv host, however it keeps reverting back to CMOS time. Do you have any idea what would make it default to cmos over a designated time server? Is there anyway to tell the hyperv domain controllers to quit synchronizing from the hyperv hosts?

Hi,
First, make sure that all the virtual machines are not synchronizing time from host.
The virtual PDC emulator must always synchronize the time with an external source, and the time synchronization with the host must be disabled. This also applies to any other VMs joined to the domain.
To do this:
Disable time synchronization with the host via the registry:
Set the Enabled parameter to 0 in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\VMICTimeProvider
Note, before change a registry, please backup the registry.

Thank you both FanFan and DS! The issue was the sync service between the HVs and the host machine. Once it was toggled off the time issues cleared up. It took hours to resolve, but I'm glad it all paid off.
