Help: Recent files gone from list of pinned and recent files on Taskbar Icon

Tried to repair a corrupted Excel workbook by using the following suggestion from another site:
Go to Programs and Features > find app or program > click Advanced settings > click Repair if you can, if its not click Reset.

I was translating from english to english, as I have writing what it said, and what I did was click Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise instead of Office. This is because I couldnt find it at the time, and the processes were similar enough that I just hought I was dealing with outdated information form previous updates.
This is what I did:
Programs and Features > find the app or program(Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise ) > click > Edit > Online Repair

It reinstalled my office package, which took a while, but the site didnt state what was supposed to happen beyond what I stated, so I just replaced one problem for another. And I feel well and truly dumb.
Just want my pinned files back for Word, Powerpoint and Excel, as I use them for quickly accessing essential files buried deep in folders and itll be another pain to go through all the very distant path directories.

Is there a way to regain the files I pinned now, after my dumb mistake, or do I just have to accept it, suck up the time itll take, and pin them manually again?

EDIT: separate issue - tagging this was incredibly frustrating, couldnt see which tags were already approved either, had to actually look up the tags and flip through pages to find one that applied so there was the minimum allowed.

Hello @AnnThygesen-4899

I guess for this time you might need to pin them manually again.
But disabling Office syncing might work for avoiding this for next time.

Or if you have a restore point and roll back to it , check the path for the pinned files and save the file path.

Best Regards
Karlie
