What if both connection points already point to same external address?

So getting ready to modify the connection points on my 2013EX to point to the 2019EX Internal SCP.

When I run the command on both servers to GET the AutoDiscoverServiceInternalURI, it appears to already be the same.

https://mail.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

Now, my DNS settings will point all things back to the 2013EX....
Am I just ahead of myself here?

Hi @BCL-4181,

When I run the command on both servers to GET the AutoDiscoverServiceInternalURI, it appears to already be the same.

According to the guidance documented within the Exchange Deployment Assistant, the SCP object configuration on every Exchange server in the organization needs to be updated to point to the Exchange 2019 server:

For your current situation, you can keep the URI as it is and meanwhile make sure mail.domain.com is pointing to the Exchange 2019 server.

So right now mail.domain.com points to the 2013EX server.

If I change my DNS (In my case just a firewall setting) to point to 2019EX, will that mess up my users?
Will they still be able to send and receive emails even if I haven't moved the mailboxes?

it could mess up mail flow and client connections unless you change your MX and other DNS records and change the firewall rules accordingly so the 2019 can receive and send mail on port 25 and allow remote connections on port 443

So at what point do I need to make sure everything points to the 2019EX...?
Thanks

The 2013 and 2019 SCP can all point to the same URI since 2013 will simply proxy to the 2019 server and vice versa.
