Windows 10 virtual network

I'm trying to create a virtual network but the system keeps insisting that Virtual networking in not supported despite the exact same setup working fine in Windows 7 and when I do attempt to activate the network I've setup I keep getting the message that "the group or resource in not in the correct state to perform the selected operation" Could someone help me out with what's going on here,as it has me stumped?

Hi,
Have you fixed your problem? Better show me a screenshot for the message "the group or resource in not in the correct state to perform the selected operation". Please feel free to strike me.

Hi,
Can you describe how you create the virtual network in Windows 10 specifically? And when you attempt to activate the network, you said you keep getting the message that "the group or resource in not in the correct state to perform the selected operation". Where you get this error report exactly? Please post a screenshot for it.

Best Regards,
Mulder Zhang

Hello,

If you're creating the hosted network, that error may occur sometime. Right click on your network adapter, select Properties. Go to Power Management tab, check the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option.

If this doesn't work, check the o/p of netsh wlan show hostednetwork command. Check if Hosted network status is saying Not available.

Let us know if this helps!

I've found out since that the particular adapter I was using to provide my hostednetwork isn't supported by Windows 10 so I need to find a new solution to the problem. As right now I can setup the network fine but I can't activate it and the mobile hotspot function doesn't work,as it will try to log-in to my USB network adapter which results in continual "cannot connect" errors when I try and connect with any kind of device to use my VPN on that device.
