Windows 10 Servicing - Users not getting upgrade notificaton in Software Center

Hello everyone,

So, I've followed several blogs on how to properly configure Windows 10 Servicing - I have checked all configuration options and I'm pretty sure I got it all properly setup.

I created Windows 10 Servicing deployment for Windows 10 20H2.

Now, I'm deploying this to a test device collection with only one device in it...a virtual machine. This virtual machine is running Windows 10 1909.

It's been two days and the option to install the new version of windows doesn't show up in Software Center.

Where do I start checking for issues related to Windows 10 Servicing?

Thanks!

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

For SCCM updates related issue, we can use the tag mem-cm-updates. I have changed the tag.

Hi, @EdGonz-2830
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
We may first check if the update you deployed is required for the device you deployed to.
When you look at the update, does it show required for some clients? We can click "View Required" in the lower right corner to see if the device you deployed to is listed.

That's a great point!

Well, the next question is how come my VM, which runs Windows 10 1909 isn't on the list of required? As a matter of fact I have hundreds of machines not listed as 'required'

Also my clients are set to take updates

Hi, @EdGonz-2830
Thanks for the feedback.
Ok, then what is the language and edition (business or consumer) of your windows 10 1909?
Does it match the update you deployed?
If the language or edition is different, the update will not required for the client.

Hi, @EdGonz-2830
It seems there is no update for a couple of days. May we know the current status of the problem?
Have we checked the language and edition of the update you deployed?

Hi..

I advise you to take the software scan report and determine when was the last time that scan was performed on the equipment that is not "required".

All equipment less than or equal to 2004 must be "required" on 20h2 or 21h1.

If it is not required, it may be that the equipment is missing a cumulative or SSU patch. Check which patches are missing.

When I run Windows Updates nothing comes back as nothing missing, yet if I run the update manually...it works fine.
