I was tasked to setup a new SCVMM 2016 environment. We had an old VMM2012 environment that had died. The vmm server and database no longer exist. I have setup the new environment and added all the hosts back in except two. The problematic two hosts were part of a cluster in the old environment. When adding these hosts, they're discovered as a cluster and the cluster cannot be added because it no longer exist. There is no dns record for it either. I have uninstalled the agent on both hosts and still cannot figure out how to get them removed from the old cluster. There were some threads I found about removing the cluster or hosts from the cluster but they all require access to the vmm server or the database, which is not available anymore.
Can someone help? Is it possible to go into the host server and run some sort of powershell script or command to force the removal of the box from the cluster? One would guess that there is some sort of way to force a removal of the box from whatever vmm mothership or cluster that is controlling it.
I'm not sure about the categories. I've never posted any question before and not sure where to post properly. Please forgive me of this and send me to the right spot if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
