When will Purview scanning feature for Azure Synapse Serverless SQL pool made available?

Hi, currently I am using Synapse Serverless SQL Pool. However I am unable to scan in Purview since it doesnt support scanning to serverless pool and I was being informed that this feature is being developed.

May I know when is the expected completion timeline for this feature?

Hello @MuhammadMukhtar-4844,

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Azure Synapse Workspace scans support capturing metadata and schema for dedicated and serverless SQL databases within them. It also classifies the data automatically based on system and custom classification rules.

Note: We don’t support external tables but otherwise you can scan the contents of a serverless DB in a Synapse workspace.

For more details, refer to Register and scan Azure Synapse workspaces.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
