Teams users needing admin credentials to host a Teams meeting.

I put the Teams installer msi file in Program Files with expectation that users Teams will self install on a conf room PC. This worked well. Users can open and use Teams. But after a Teams meeting is created at some point the user has to put in admin credentials to start a Teams meeting at just one time. After which they do not get prompted for the same credentials.

How do my users use Teams Meeting without having to enter the admin credentials one time?

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

It's actually a Windows Security Alert saying Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of this app. Name: Microsoft Teams

@CrosskeyIT-6936,

Do you mean user needs to enter the credential every time when he wants to start a meeting?

This is by default if the user is the meeting organizer. After the meeting is started, other attendees could join the meeting as anonymous.

About how to enable anonymous users to join meetings, please refer to this article.

Hi Sharon,

I goofed so sorry, meant to say to get past the firewall users need to have admin credentials and enter it to allow Teams to access the internet. Its a one time thing to do but they need me to come and enter my admin credentials.

Does that help?

@CrosskeyIT-6936,
Sure. I'm waiting for you.
From my experience, it needs no admin credentials if you use Microsoft Teams normally.

@CrosskeyIT-6936,

User could dismiss this warning.

The official document explains this scenario. Teams will work well even when the warning is dismissed.
