No subscription in Azure Portal, switching to another directory results in an error message

Hello,

I've recently activated an Azure for Students account. When I click the 'getting started' link in the 'welcome to your Azure account' e-mail, I can log in to the portal. However, when I do that, I get an error message about having no subscription in the azure.com directory. When I try to switch to the directory with my university's name, I get the following message:

You don't have access to this
Your sign-in was successful, but you don't have permission to access this resource.

I can view my subscription on https://account.azure.com/Subscriptions and it says active. I can neither edit or cancel it, as it redirects me to the portal (with the error message above). I've tried different browsers, devices etc. and nothing helps. Any help is appreciated :)

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Thanks!

Given all that, I tried to set up a free Azure account using the same credentials, but I'm getting the exact same error message, which is very frustrating.

On https://account.azure.com/Subscriptions I can see Free Trial - active, but if I try to access or edit just about anything, I'm getting redirected to the portal and greeted with

You don't have access to this
Your sign-in was successful, but you don't have permission to access this resource.
Sign out and sign in with a different account

FWIW after that I logged in with my personal Microsoft account, but it says I'm not eligible for a free Azure account.

@MagdalenaSikorskaStudent-8268 Thank you for reaching out to us!

As per troubleshooting guide - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/no-subscriptions-found#:~:text=Scenario%201%3A%20Error%20message%20is,Owner%20role%20to%20your%20account this issue usually occurs when you select incorrect directory. However, you already tried switching directory and it din't help, So, I could be a permission issue. You may want to check with your college/university admin to ensure you've appropriate permission.

Last option: Contact Azure subscription management team by raising a support request. Here is the link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request to create support case.

Hi and thanks for your response!

I have contacted my university and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. Meanwhile:

This is what happened when I tried to raise a support request:

Conditional access policy failure
Your Azure AD tenant admin has enabled conditional access policies. You will need to sign in again to access your resources.

Clicking the 'sign in again button' results in the site being reloaded and the same error message to be displayed again.
