View usage on Congnitive Services STT

I'm currently developing something using the speech-to-text Cognitive Services and am subscribed with the free tier. How can I view the minutes that have been used so far during my testing?

Per the billing page, the service is billed by the second, but I can't find anywhere in the portal to see current number of seconds/minutes/hours used. The Metrics section under Monitoring only has values for things like total calls, which isn't useful when I don't know how much usage was calculated for those calls.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

@bekit You could view the usage of your resource or service by using the billing by subscription tab.

This gives the ability to view usage by resource or service and then group by resource and their meter category and subcategory, for example you can view the following for speech services.

This does not display the metric of usage in terms of no. of hours/minutes available out of your quota. According to the documentation you can request this by raising a support issue against the resource to get the daily limit.

That shows me nothing, as seen in the screenshot below. I've tried several combinations of filters and settings and the billing reports always give me no details at all. I assume because I'm on the free tier and there is no cost.

That section of the documentation references limits for concurrency, and doesn't talk about "per minute" usage. I also don't want to set a daily limit, but would really like to know how close I'm coming to my monthly limit.

@bekit Currently, our product team has confirmed that the metric about finding out the usage quota on the resource based on the tier is not available for speech to text. This is something that is in the backlog of the team to be added as a metric.

Thanks. So is there no way to see current quota usage at all? How will we know if the quota is reached, will the connections just begin to fail?

Currently, Yes. For TTS new metrics are added to view the usage and similar metrics will be available for STT soon. If the quota is exhausted the requests will fail with an appropriate message. If the quota is still available and the no. of concurrent calls are exceeded you are most likely to see error 429.
