Network drive connection not working

We have one laptop that we updated to the 20h2 update, and the network drives are not connecting automatically. And when we map manually they are not remembered when we restart the computer. I have rolled back the update and the issue is fixed. Any help would be nice.

Hi,
I am wondering how you map your network drives. Is it manually or GPO? And when the network drives are connecting, is it by IP or hostname or FQDN? You said the network drives are not connecting automatically, can you post a screenshot for it?

Mulder,

The folder that is being added to the laptop in questions is this
Windows 10 20h2 registry - hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/explorer/_MRU
All of the other computers I have checked do not have this folder in the registry, and it is being added after the 20h2 update, it is not in the registry before and only after.

After looking into it a little more it appears that the 20h2 up date has modified the registry and that is what is giving us problems. The laptop in question has a folder added that the other computers do not seem to have.

Hi,
Is your windows 20H2 version updated from the May patch, or upgraded from an even lower version? If it is the latest patch update, you may uninstall the patch update accordingly to see which patch update is causing the issue. If you could narrow down the issue caused by the exact patch, you may not install that patch for a while and wait for the windows official KB update. The incoming KB updates should fix the issue.
