Sharing tray empty/blank/black in teams on Ubuntu 21.04

When I'm using Teams on my Ubuntu 21.04 laptop, clicking the 'Open Share Tray' button shows an empty bar. There is no option to either share desktop or windows. Would really appreciate any suggestions for mitigating this. See the image below.

hitting this problem too.. not able to share screens anymore in meetings after upgrade to hirse hippo..

Not having a Wayland solution for this in the standalone Linux app is a cop out. X is no longer (as) actively developed as Wayland and my TB3 monitor setup is "way" more stable under Wayland. ;-)

For now, I can use the browser version of Teams (in chrome...as it seems to crash too often in "Edge Insiders")...with WebRTC enabled, sharing of content and even screens works fine within Wayland there.

Just to be clear, stating "use X instead" is not a viable option...for much longer...

That's not a realistic option as "X" doesn't "play nice" with my TB3 docking station (all sorts of funky behavior, crashes, sleep on lock weirdness.).

Also, as I already mentioned "X" is not (as) actively developed or maintained. My understanding is that Wayland is the future and the activity/bug fixing level is much higher on that path. That's certainly been my experience.

I'm so happy about wayland, with wayland my ubuntu displays working way better then before.

Its not acceptable as workaround to step back to X11 in my opinion, please support wayland.

Its not fun to have teams meetings without the ability to share screens, especially when you are a developer and your colleagues are asking for a presentation..

As far as I know is a problem with Electron apps, since Teams Desktop Linux is a Electron app. But Electron 12 has just been released with Wayland support.
Perhaps is so simple as to update Electron version.

I encountered this issue too. I'm unable to share my screen on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with wayland (which is the default and the one that I really enjoy).
Also the webcam video quality that is transmitted by Teams is awful.
