Unable to update Virtual Machine Diagnostic settings



Diagnostic Settings update about Metrics/SysLog on a Virtual Machine is failing.

The following (systematic) error is reported:

"Failed to update diagnostic settings

Failed to update diagnostic settings for . There was an error processing your request. Try again in a few moments."

In the following, all the extensions installed on VM (Linux (ubuntu 16.04)):

DependencyAgentLinux Microsoft.Azure.Monitoring.DependencyAgent.DependencyAgentLinux 9.
enablevmaccess Microsoft.OSTCExtensions.VMAccessForLinux 1.

GuestHealthLinuxAgent Microsoft.Azure.Monitor.VirtualMachines.GuestHealth.GuestHealthLinuxAgent 1.
log-analytics Microsoft.EnterpriseCloud.Monitoring.OmsAgentForLinux 1.

network-watcher Microsoft.Azure.NetworkWatcher.NetworkWatcherAgentLinux 1.
storage-diagnostics Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.LinuxDiagnostic 3.

The same error was reported on vm (Linux (ubuntu 16.04)) with the following extension :

AzureMonitorLinuxAgent Microsoft.Azure.Monitor.AzureMonitorLinuxAgent 1.
GuestHealthLinuxAgent Microsoft.Azure.Monitor.VirtualMachines.GuestHealth.GuestHealthLinuxAgent 1.

log-analytics Microsoft.EnterpriseCloud.Monitoring.OmsAgentForLinux 1.
network-watcher Microsoft.Azure.NetworkWatcher.NetworkWatcherAgentLinux 1.

storage-diagnostics Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.LinuxDiagnostic 3.
vm-insights Microsoft.Azure.Monitoring.DependencyAgent.DependencyAgentLinux 9.

@COLASANTOFRANCESCA-6756 Welcome to Microsoft Q & A Community Forum. Can you please share the steps on how you are trying to update the diagnostic settings? Are you using ARM, PowerShell, CLI or REST API?

Hi, we are using Azure Portal, on left Menu Monitoring --> Diagnostic settings in SysLog / Metrics Tab (keeping jump server vm Azure Monitoring enabled).
