SharePoint Online sites syncing Azure AD Security Group changes

Hi,
How long it takes in SharePoint Online to reflect the Azure AD Security Group changes, so ther user permissions works fine.

Eg: If I have a Email Enabled Security Group called (DeptAdmins) in my Azure AD and the DeptAdmins group is added to my SharePoint Site Collections.

Now when a new admin (eg: finance admin) joins the company, I add the person to DeptAdmins group in Azure AD. How long it takes for the new admin to get access to SharePoint Site collections where DeptAdmins has added already? Immediately or it takes some time?

If it takes some time, how long? Which job has to run for the changes to Azure AD Security Group to reflect in SharePoint Online?

Hello @YasothadeviS-1910 ,

Welcome to Q&A Forum!

In most cases, it can be synchronized immediately, in other words, the site can be accessed immediately. In rare cases, it may take several minutes due to some caching or network reasons.

In Sharepoint Online, this is operated by the background, we cannot see these specific timer jobs.

Thanks,
Echo Du
