Change settings made by group policy

Is it possible to make a group policy that sets a settings when the computer is joined but later the user can change it if they want?

Example: In our internal network we have disabled windows firewall by default because it makes strange fault in some tests. But some people need to enable it again but cant since it is set by group policy and grayed out for users.

Can this be done?

Best Regards

Hi,
Thank you for posting in our forum
If the domain-added machine has been configured with the group policy in the domain, the same local policy will become invalid, which is what you said "grey out".
Even if the local settings are not grey out, and you have successfully configured the policy locally, but the domain policy is refreshed every 90 minutes on the workstation, the local policy will be overwritten again.
In a word, the user cannot change the settings that have been set in the domain policy from the client.
Hope this information can help you
Best wishes
Vicky
