InfoPath 2013, SharePoint 2016. Is it possible for organizing a XML document library?

We use forms on a calendar basis to track things consistently. the only problem is that having all of these forms in one location is going to be tedious over time as the list will get longer and longer. I tried making views but could get a filter to work properly to only show one month at a time for the view. I need a solution that would either allow the filter to work, or allow the library to utilize folders like FY2021, FY2022 and have months inside them. Currently my data connection points to a SharePoint list I consider as the root of the folder organization we implemented but when we move the XML files there based on month and year a problem occurs. Editing a document in a sub folder does not save to the sub folder, it saves a copy back to the root folder that is defined in the data connection wizard.

Hello @RebelYell-1343 ,

Welcome to Q&A Forum!

On the one hand, the Document libraries does not support Infopath.

On the other hand, you can create a Calendar View to implement your design.

Please follwoing steps:

1.Go to the XML Document library >> LIBRARY Tab >> Library Settings

2.On the Settings page, scroll to Views section and click "Create view" link to create new Calendar View.

3.On the Create View page, Please refer to the settings:

Note that I have customized the "Time" column in the library , and I filter based on the value of the Time column.

6.OK and go back the XML Document library
